Bio

My photo
"Inspired by the beautiful world around me, I began taking pictures as a way to capture and share the things that stand out to me. As I progressed, I grew a real passion for photography, reaching beyond just landscapes and trying to capture everything that appeals to me visually. I have obsessed over technique, composition, subject matter, and post production just to find that there is so much more to know that I will never be at the point that I want to be. The fun part is trying to get there anyway. Five years into my hobby, it has become a passion. I have now started a new path - creating a business from doing what I love. The business consists of myself and two assistant photographers. My goal is to produce the very highest quality photographs for my clients using any means available to me."

TMP Studios's Fan Box

New Website

We will be launching a new website in the near future called "TMPStudios.net." TMP Studios will be the shortened named of Thomas McKown Photography in which members of the TMP team will be associated with. Here you will find combined work for large jobs like weddings which require the collaboration of work by several photographers to complete. Right now we are toying with the idea of creating subdomains for each individual assistant photographer within the new website where you can view their specific work, each with its own blog linked to its site. This will be a large project and will likely take some time, but we will keep you up to date on the progress. The current company website (ThomasMcKownPhoto.com) will remain as head photographer Thomas McKown's website for his own personal works and services. All of this will be in an effort to clarify who we are and what we do while at the same time establishing a company name that is easier to remember.

Keeley & Robby Ward Wedding

We have finally finished the gallery for our very first wedding! I'm very excited about the results we got. These are just a few samples of what we shot during the day. I want to make sure to thank both Kyle and Sara for contributing some awesome pictures! Sara's detail shots and Kyle's kids shots really add a lot. Kyle and Katie's Family Portraits

This set was taken for the newly weds and their new baby. We decided to go to Pickett State Park in Jamestown, TN for the pictures. The weather was beautiful and made for a really nice day at the park. My congratulations go to them for the marriage as well as the new family. Enjoy!

Kyle and Katie's Baby Shower

Last Saturday I was invited to my good friends Kyle and Katie's baby shower for their new daughter, Aeon. Since these were just snapshots, I thought they would be a perfect candidate for a little program that I just stumbled across today called Poladroid. Its a free program and very easy to use. It makes polaroids out of your pictures! Fun right? Of course, I did do my usual tweaks, but it really gave the pictures a unique aged polariod look. I think it was a fun little project and I can't wait to see what they think. Here are a few of the pictures I took. Enjoy.
